Trial Activity

Tenet Healthcare, LTD. d/b/a Brownsville Medical Center v. Alberto Almeida, M.D. Cause No. 2004-04-002014-C, In the 197th Judicial District Court of Cameron County, Texas.

Jaime A. Saenz and Teri L. Danish represented Dr. Almeida in this dispute over an alleged contract. This non-jury trial began on October 5, 2006, and proceeded for the week, but was recessed for 3 weeks when Plaintiff failed to properly produce a corporate representative to attend the trial pursuant to subpoena. The trial was later concluded, and closing arguments were held on November 1, 2006. The court found a breach of contract, and chose to award damages of approximately $100,000.00, when confronted by evidence and argument supporting the Plaintiff’s claim of approximately $300,000.00 and that of Defendant of approximately $20,000.00.
